Father of the Osun State Baby Of The Year – baby born on January 1, 2017 in Osun State (Nigeria), Mr Kajogbola Olasunkanmi, has accused the Osun State General Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo for short-changing the family. While Mr Kajogbola Olasunkanmi confirmed the receipt of N15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Naira) gift and other baby items from the wife of the Governor, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola, he claims lots of other donated gifts were mismanaged by the hospital management.
Olasunkanmi, who spoke with contacts on Wednesday in Osogbo said the management of the hospital gave only water flask and 5kg rice to them out of the many gifts brought for the baby of the year, including cash, by the Lions Club of Nigeria.
He expressed disappointment over the alleged fraud perpetrated by the management of the hospital, saying such anomaly was unbecoming of a public institution. “It is very unfortunate that the public institution, which ordinarily should uphold high level of truth and integrity is found wanting of social vice of this dimension and magnitude.
” As we appreciate the wife of the governor for her gesture, we are not happy over the attitude of the management of Asubiaro hospital. It is highly unacceptable! and we demand that those behind this fraud be brought to book.
“My mother-in-law, who was with my wife at the time when Lions’ Club came with the gifts confirmed that the charity organisation brought many gifts for the baby of the year, out of which the hospital released ONLY 5kg of rice and water flask,” Olasunkanmi stressed.
All efforts to get the reaction of the hospital management over the issue proved abortive as nurses at the reception continued to express ignorance on the whereabouts of the Medical Director.
